CP Information Session - "TGA – ISP – DSR – FFYA – I&R What does all this mean?"
Tuesday 20th September
Department of Human Services representatives presented what supports are available to individuals with CP, how to access these supports, what the process is and ways to use your supports effectively.

Currently the Department of Human Services (DHS) is working on a redevelopment of the Disability Support Register (DSR). As a result unfortunately a representative from this department was unable to present at the CPSN Information Session. However the good news is that DHS have promised to present to our members in the near future once the redevelopment has been put into place. The CPSN will keep our members updated on any developments. In the meantime please go to the following link for more information on DSR’s - http://www.dhs.vic.gov.au/for-individuals/disability/start-here/disability-support-register

Some comments from members who completed the “Parents as Careers Transition Support (PACTS)” workshops:

• Speakers were really good and informative (especially Paul)
• Very interesting to hear from the representatives from Wesley and WISE
• Personal experience element was useful
• The workshops have provided useful information – especially when we haven’t come through the special school pathway
• Adequate information has been supplied on my subjects of interest.
